Workshop Description

The Drone Race trains participants to program a drone for complex, unassisted operation, as well as building their skills in solving logistical tasks entirely through code. Participants will be tested on their advanced coding abilities and usage of sensors to make the drone navigate through obstacles automatically. This is followed by a test of their programming of a robotic hand to place items into a designated box, as well as their implementation of control algorithms to precisely land the drone on specified target areas. The workshop and STEM carnival* will take place in the morning, followed by the competition in the afternoon, all on the same day. Each team will receive a coaching session before the competition on the day itself. Participants may select only one training category and slot to ensure more students can benefit from this STEM exposure opportunity. Slots are limited. Registration is only confirmed upon successful payment and submission of the payment receipt. For the workshop, participants may choose only one category per session. For Drone Race: 1. This challenge uses AI-powered drones, so coding is required. 2. Participants will receive hands-on guidance and instruction during the workshop.
