Junior Primary (7 to 9 years old)
High Primary (10 to 12 years old)

Secondary  (13 to 15 years old )

Senior Youth (16 to 19 years old)
Adults (20 years old and above)

Goal

The goal of the Robot Relay Race is to autonomously follow the black line on the white field of the track within 3 minutes passing the baton to another robot of the synergy (2 contestants per team) and finish in the shortest possible time for Senior Category.

While for junior relay race, the goal is for the juniors to construct robots that can pass objects to another robots and finish in the shortest possible time. Junior Category is not necessary to use coding, remote control is allowed.

Team  - COACHES

1. Teams and not individuals participate in the Match.

2. The sport requires 2 contestants (a team) to cooperate with each other.

3. Each team can consist of two (2) people. Each team can have only two robots.

4. Each team is allowed to have only two robots. Changing robots during competition is forbidden. Kindergarten’s or junior robot is remote controlled or to use coding pen.

5. If a contestant has a serious problem with their robot they are only allowed to change the microprocessor after permission from the Head Judges.

ROBOT RELAY RACE - ATHLETE CATEGORY

The Competition is for Robot Relay Race regardless of the robotic package or hardware used.

In the Primary category, the robot is required to pass an object (cube). The first robot must bring the object to the designated meeting point. If the next robot moves before the object is passed, it must reverse to its original position, wait for the object, and only then proceed. Primary’s robot can be remote controlled or to use coding pen. The below requirement is not applicable to the Primary category.

1. The Robot Relay Race must be autonomous for Primary and above.Below are the requirements for Primary category and above.

2. The Robot Relay Race must have a gripper to grasp the baton.

2. Its maximum overall dimension must be up to 35cm Width x 35cm Length.

3. The Robot Athlete will be weighed and must comfortably fit into a control box.

        - The control box measures 35 x 35 cm.

4. The Relay Race Robot should be placed in the control box without applying pressure.

5. The Robot Relay Race must not wear or damage the track or pose a threat to spectators in any way.

6. The Robot Relay Race must have a start and stop button.

7. The use of pneumatic devices / hardware is prohibited in any category of robots.

8. Regardless of robot category, only one processor, 4 motors and 4 sensors are allowed.

TECHNICAL INSPECTION

1. The initial technical inspection will take place on the day of the Games at a place and time to be determined by the organizers.

2. Technical inspection includes inspection of the robot according to the conditions described above. If he does not meet the specifications, he will not be allowed to compete and will be automatically disqualified from the event.

3. If a team is not in place during the initial scrutineering, this results in the team being automatically disqualified from the match.

4. The assistant referee also conducts a secondary technical check before each match attempt.

TRACK (Junior Category)

TRACK (Senior Category)

Track size is 3m x 3m. Map to print as below:

relay race map.jpg
OBJECT (Junior Category ONLY)

The object to be used is foam material or cube from the junior robotics sets. Dimensions are around 50mm * 50mm * 50mm for foam material or the cubes size from junior robotics set.

BATON (Senior Category ONLY)

The baton to be used is foam material (Swimming Spaghetti Helper) / used can with 20cm height and 6.5cm thickness. The shape is a cylinder/rectangular.

COMPETITION
START - PROCESS OF THE RACE
  1. The team will be listed during the competition with a unique number which will be given to them by the organizers during the Initial Technical Control.

  2. The Athlete Robot should be facing so that its caliper is waiting for the baton.

PREPARATION
  1. Contestants start their Robot Athletes after the referee's instruction by pressing the Start button. There should be a 5 seconds time delay before the Robot Athletes start up so that the Contestant can get off the track.

  2. The Robot Athlete at the Start position should grab the baton/cubes and move forward from the timing point, following the black line or the map to the 1st Stop where he will hand over the baton/cubes to the 2nd Robot Athlete.

  3. The 2rd Robot Athlete should grab/push the baton/cubes and proceed following the black line to the Finish point where the Competition round will end.

MATCH
  1. During the match there will be a time of 2 minutes.

  2. In this time each team will make repeated attempts on the track based on the order that will be announced by the organizing committee.

  3. If a team is not in its turn, they lose their effort and the next team takes their turn. The team that missed the attempt must wait until all attempts are completed and  it is their turn again.

  4. Referees record time for each attempt.

  5. Robot Athletes will pass a technical check by the assistant referee before each attempt.

END OF A MATCH
  1. When the 2nd Robot Athlete reaches the finish square. (The baton/cubes should be inside it. The Robot Athlete may not be whole inside it).

  2. If a Robot Athlete does not take over.

  3. If a Robot Athlete misses the black line.

BAN A TEAM:

In the following cases, a team is excluded from the competition and must leave.
Team results are not considered and are not included in the list of competition results.

  1.  If a team's Robot Athlete does not follow the requirements set forth in the rules of the Sport and the team refuses to accommodate him

  2. If one of the contestants behaves in an inappropriate or undignified manner, swears or provokes or verbally or otherwise attacks teammates or the referees.

  3. If it is detected that an Athlete Robot does not work autonomously but with remote control, bluetooth, wifi etc.

OBJECTIONS
